The Associated American Artists commissioned original graphic art from such great masters as Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton, Reginald Marsh and others. Le Charivari: The golden age of French satirical art is generally held to be the decades of the 1830's and 1840's. A daily journal entitled, Le Charivari (1832 - 1916), led the attack against political leaders, royalty, priesthood and any other groups and individuals. At least one original lithograph was published with each issue, and the artists who contributed were among the greatest satirical masters of any era. The most notable contributor to the journal was Daumier.

Gazette des Beaux-Arts: The Gazette des Beaux-Arts began publishing in 1859. From the beginning of its publication the Gazette regularly commissioned the greatest etchers of the day to supply original graphic works of art. Nineteenth century editions included original etchings by Daubigny, Appian, Goya, Meryon, Whistler, Seymour Haden, Liebermann, Maclaughlan, Besnard and others and from the beginning of our century to the last publication in 1930 such great artists as Friant, Beurdeley, Louis Jou, Gobo and the American, John Sloan and others from this period responded with original etchings.
