Fishing Canoes

Thomas Aquinas Daly's "Fishing Canoes" is his first original work of art created in the aquatint medium. Since its publication around 1985, Thomas Daly has created many masterpieces in aquatint. This original aquatint engraving is printed on thick, pure rag paper with a blindstamp to the lower left and with full, deckled margins as published in Albuquerque, New Mexico by the Tamarind Institute in an edition of seventy five impressions. It is signed, titled and numbered, by Daly in pencil along the lower plate mark. "Fishing Canoes" is a fine, original example of the sporting and landscape art created by the contemporary American artist, Thomas Aquinas Daly.

Note: Thomas Aquinas Daly 'Thomas Daly': A leading contemporary landscape, still life and sporting artist, Thomas Aquinas Daly studied graphic art at the University of Buffalo. For the following twenty years he worked primarily as a commercial artist and printer. In 1981, Daly dedicated all his efforts to creative art.
  Known equally for his paintings and original prints, Thomas Daly's art has been the subjects of numerous exhibitions in American universities and museums. His art is now included in such collections as the Grand Central Art Gallery and the John L. Wehle Gallery of Sporting Art. His fine art has also been the subject of two books, "Painting Nature's Quiet Places" (1985) and "The Painting Season" (1998).
Edition: "Fishing Canoes" was published in the limited edition of seventy five impressions, numbered '71/75'.

Condition: Printed on thick, pure rag paper with a blindstamp to the lower left and with full, deckled margins as published around the above date. Signed, titled and numbered, '71 / 75', by the artist in pencil along the lower plate mark. A superb impression with full tonal values in excellent condition throughout. "Fishing Canoes" represents a prime, original example of the famous landscape art of Thomas Aquinas Daly.
