There are a number of major works of original art listed on this page that we offer for sale. Chief among these are such masterworks works by artists from around the world dating as early as the 17th century and into the 20th century. The first selection includes original graphic art by 19th & 20th and twentieth century American artists; beginning with three original graphic works of art, and an original drawing by Sigmund Abeles entitled, Afternoon Light (Figure Study, Anne Merck), Deadly Dancers (Commissioned for 'The Permanent Revolution' by the filmmaker, Manfried Kirchheimer), My Rolling Mare, 'Sayida', and Red Haired. They are followed by Chaim Koppelman's original lithograph, Critical Still Life. Also included in this group are three original 19th century wood engravings, historical periodicals published by Harper's Weekly, all three were designed by the important American artist, Thomas Nast. These Thomas Nast engravings are Ay, There's the Rub - You Can't Change the Nature of the Animal. You Dirty Boy (Subject: Grover Cleveland, Governor of New York, and the '1882 Campaign', a fight against political corruption), He Wants a Change Too, (Subject: The African-American fight for rights against white racism, and the 1876 Hamburg Riots, also known as the 'Hamburg Massacre'), and the third is The First Step Toward National Bankruptcy, (Subject: Mr. Matthews' 1878 Resolution - Bonds, Greenbacks, & Silver Coinage).

In the second selection, nineteenth century French lithography is represented with Le Soir dans les Bruyeres (Evening in the Bruyeres) by Charles Joshua Chaplin, Puits Breton (Breton Well) by Jules-Joseph-Augustin Laurens 'Jules Laurens' designed by Charles Emile Vacher de Tournemine 'Charles de Tournemine', and 20th century French art is represented by an original lithograph entitled, La Crique (The Cove), by Kostia-B (Jeanin Kostia-Blancheteau), and an original aquatint with drypoint by Gen Paul (Eugene Paul) entitled, Declin du jour (Close of Day).

Also included here are three 'Ex Libris' book plates; the first is an original etching entitled, Ex-Libris Sara Eugenia Blake (Still Life, Drawing Pad, & Art Supplies) Alexandre Coll Blanch, next an original engraving entitled, Ex Libris Elizabeth Watson Diamond (Chinese Winter Landscape) by John Hudson Elwell, ending with an original wood engraving entitled, Ex Libris Elizabeth Watson Diamond (Chinese Winter Landscape) by Valentin Le Campion.

This next grouping contains artwork by 18th and 19th century British painters and printmakers, starting with an original engraving by Jean Pierre Simon entitled, Much Ado About Nothing, Act IV, Scene I, (Don Pedro, Don John, Leonato, Friar, Claudio, Benedick, Hero and Beatrice), after William Hamilton, published by John Boydell for his 'Shakspeare Gallery' set, and Paradise Regained: Christ and Satan Dispute the Value of Earthly Glory by William Satchwell Leney designed by Richard Westall created for John and Josiah Boydell's The Poetical Works of John Milton. These are followed by three original lithographs published by Charles Tilt, London for Sketches at Home and Abroad; these include, Bergamo, Roveredo (Rovereto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy), and, Tynemouth, Northumberland (King Edward's Bay, Lighthouse, Castle and Priory) all three by James Duffield Harding. Here, we also include an original 19th century etching from the 1862 portfolio entitled, Passages from Modern English Poets Illustrated by the Junior Etching Club by Arthur James Lewis 'Arthur Lewis', The Cornfield, and ending this selection with two early 19th century botanicals, Lobelia Cavanillesii, (Lobelia Laxiflora) engraved by 'J. Watts after a design by Mill, and published in Benjamin Maund's, 'The Botanist, listed along with, Water Arrowhead 'Sagitta aquatica' (Sagittaria sagittifolia) designed by Sir John Hill for The Family Herbal.

19th century Japanese art is represented by two original original woodcuts (diptych) by Utagawa Kunisada entitled, An Old Man, and a Young Woman published by Senkakudo for the Tale of Genji (Nise Murasaki Inaka Genji), And a second diptych by Yoshiiku entitled, Actors Ichimura Kakitsu & Nakamura Shikan as Street Musicians in the Kabuki Play, Tamuke no Shikishi Kakitsu no Futsutsuka, Next, we have three original woodcuts created by Kawanabe Kyosa; the first two, Sado No Kuni Doza Tanuki (The Raccoon-Dog Doza (Danzaburo Danuki) of Sado Island (Japanese Mythology, Yokai & Supernatural Creatures) and Watonai, Hariko no Meijin (Watonai, as Master of Paper Mache) & (Daruma Dolls Terrifying their Makers, both hail from One Hundred Pictures by Kyosai (Kyosai Hyakuzu); and the third woodcut entitled, The Style of Painting of Kano Koi hails from the Kyosai Gadan (Kyosai's Account of Painting). Twentieth century Japanese art is represented with three original hand-stenciled dye prints, two by Takeshi Nishijima, the first is Calendar for August, 1975 (Korakuen Gardens, Okayama), and the other is, Calendar for November, 1975 (Evening Glow, Kyoto), The third print is by Keisuke Serizawa entitled, Calendar for March 1968 (Japanese Festivals & Events: Hina Matsuri, Howaito De, Honen Matsuri, Shunbun no Hi, & the 1854 Treaty of Kanagawa).

This final selection features various important works by painters and printmakers not listed above, such as the original 16the century German Renaissance woodcut of Conrad Faber von Kreuznach from Titus Livy's Roman History (Romische Historien) entitled, King Antiochus, Hannibal and other Advisors Discuss the War Against the Romans, an original aquatint and etching, Landscape with a Brook by the Italian artist, Marco Zambrelli, 20th century Canadian art is represented with two original drawings, Ocean, Sky and Iceberg by Thomas Harold Beament, and Landscape Study with Trees. And lastly, this selection features a 17th century engraving and etching from the Effigies imperatorum domus Austriacae created by two Dutch artists, Pieter van Sompel, & Pieter Claesz Soutman entitled, Maximilian II Imperator (Emperor Maximilian II).
