There are a number of major works of original art listed on this page that we offer for sale. Chief among these are such masterworks works by artists from around the world dating as early as the 17th century and into the 20th century. The first selection includes drawings and graphic art by 19th & 20th and twentieth century American artists; beginning with four original works of art by Sigmund Abeles, an original lithograph, entitled, Carl's Angus Cow (A Prize Winning Angus), an original drypoint and etching, Curled Up (Figure Study of a Woman), and two original drawings, Janus Headed Man (Two Figure Studies), and Seated Lady with folded Fingers (Figure Study). These are followed by an original color aquatint & soft ground etching, Park Walk (Central Park, New York with a View of the Manhattan Skyline) created by Harvey W. Kidder, 'Harvey Kidder, and an original etching & engraving entitled, Halloween by Adam Wurtz. 19th century American art features, an original wood engraving by Thomas Moran entitled, A Storm in the Mountains published by The Aldine, followed by an etched portrait of Mrs. Philip Nicklin by Stephen James Ferris after Gilbert Stuart. Also featured is a rare, and very early advertising cigar label, Strawberry (Entered According to the Act of Congress, by Fred Wambach, Washington) created for the Fred Wambach Tobacco Company. Next, we have four original 19th century wood engravings of historical importance, periodicals published by Harper's Weekly, designed by the American satirical artist, Thomas Nast. These Thomas Nast engravings satirize, and directly confront the political corruption, coercion and reforms taking place in the United States of America, and other world events that were taking place during the last quarter of the 19th century. They include, Another Such Victory - and I am Undone. Pyrrhus (Political Reform, Rutherford B. Hayes), More 'Pacification' - 'The Carpet-Baggers' are Protected that's Comfort, (1876 Presidential Election, Samuel Tilden and Rutherford Hayes & the Compromise of 1877), The Next Debut. Now let General M. C. Butler, of South Carolina Show how Bulldozing is Done (Politics, African Americans, Southern Racism), and The Trapper-Trapped, (Judge Stanley Matthews - 1876 Presidential Election, the Compromise of 1877 & The Potter Committee Investigation).

In the second selection, nineteenth century French lithography is represented with several 19th century works of art printed by Bertauts, Paris, La Musique (Music) by Henri Charles Antoine Baron, 'Henri Baron', Zingari, Lombardie Venitienne (Gypsies, Lombardy-Venetia) by Armand Hubert Simon Leleux 'Armand Leleux', L'Embuscade (The Ambush), Metairie Bourbonnaise (Small Farm, Bourbonnaise), by Hector Martin, and L'Orage (The Storm) by Adolphe Mouilleron. There are two original lithographs published in Paris by Le Charivari, Si J'Avais Vingt Cinq Mille Francs De Rente! (Les Ouvriers de Paris, Le Charivari) by Clement Pruche created for Les Ouvriers de Paris, and La Marchande d'Arlequins by Charles-Joseph Travies de Villers for 'Comme on dine a Paris'. The French works listed here end with with an original etching entitled, Drinking Horses by Jules Jacques Veyrassat published by Seeley, Jackson & Halliday, London for P. G. Hamerton's, Chapters on Animals.

This next selection features artwork by 18th and 19th century British painters and printmakers, starting with an original engraving entitled, King Richard the Third. Act III, Scene I (Prince of Wales, Duke of York, his Brother, etc.) by Robert Thew created after a painting by James Northcote, and published by John Boydell for his 'Shakspeare Gallery' set. This is followed by two original lithographs published by Charles Tilt, London for Sketches at Home and Abroad; these include, Dijon, and The Old Castle and Bridge, Verona, both by James Duffield Harding. There are also two 19th century etchings from the 1862 portfolio, Passages from Modern English Poets Illustrated by the Junior Etching Club, which include, The Rainbow by Sir Francis Powell, and St. Valentine’s Day by Charles Rossiter.

Japanese art is represented by an original two original 19th century woodcuts from the One Hundred Pictures by Kyosai (Kyosai Hyakuzu) created by Kawanabe Kyosai entitled, A Hero Battling a Dragon (Yokai, Japanese Serpents, Mizuchi or Ryu), and Ljin Jiyu (Foreign Children at Play, Children's Games), and an original 20th century hand-stenciled dye prints by Takeshi Nishijima entitled, Calendar for July, 1975 (Gion Festival in Kyoto).

This final selection features important 20th century works by painters and printmakers not listed above, beginning with an original wood engraving by the Canadian artist, Gerard Brender a Brandis entitled, Dracula Chimaera (An Epiphytic Orchid 'family Orchidaceae' in the genus Dracula), followed by an original linocut, Landscape Scene, River View by the Danish artist, Kay Ferdinand Villian Simmelhag, 'Kay Simmelhag', and closing with an 'Ex Libris' book plate, Ex-Libris Vitolis Vengris, an original linocut by the Lithuanian artist, Vincas Kisarauskas.
