James Joseph Kearns (James Kearns)

James Joseph Kearns - Musing

Musing

James Joseph Kearns's original lithograph, "Musing" was published by the Associated American Artists, New York between 1960 and 1970. Often combining seemingly incongruous elements in his graphic art, Kearns explores a uniquely surreal world of images and dreams, such is the case with "Musing", a woman sitting on her bed with a cat on her back gently rubbing her feet as the breeze from the open window fills the room. This original impression is printed upon thick, hand-made paper and with full, deckled margins as published in New York by the 'A. A. A.' of New York in an edition of two hundred and fifty impressions. It is signed, titled and numbered, '40/250', by the James Kearns in pencil along the lower margin.
