Ernst Zipperer's original drypoint engraving, Canal Scene depicts a view of the tower from the canal. This impression is printed upon wove paper and with full margins as created by the artist in an edition of fifteen impressions around 1925. It is signed and numbered by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Canal Scene is a fine, original example of the architectural art created by the 20th century German artist, Ernst Zipperer.

Note: Ernst Zipperer: A twentieth century German painter, etcher and engraver, Ernst Zipperer is known for his architectural views of major cities in Germany, Switzerland and Britain. His etchings and drypoints depict views in such localities as Westfalen, Munster, Zurich, Mainz, Ulm and Frankfurt. Zipperer's drypoints were always published in very small editions. This original drypoint exists in only fifteen numbered impressions.
Edition: Limited edition of fifteen impressions, numbered 4/15.
Size: 11 3/4 X 8/78 (Sizes in inches are approximate, height preceding width of plate-mark or image.)
  Matted with 100% Archival Materials
Condition: Printed upon wove paper and with full margins as created by the artist around 1925. Signed and numbered, '4/15', by Zipperer in pencil along the lower margin. Containing very slight traces of mat burning in the outer margins as well as a small rust mark in the paper to the upper left, else a finely printed impression with full, velvety burr and in good condition throughout. Canal Scene represents a prime, original example of the architectural art of Ernst Zipperer.
