Henry Winzenreid's original lithograph, "Rio de Janeiro" is printed upon wove paper and with large, full margins as published in the limited edition of thirty impressions around 1950. It is signed and numbered by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. This landscape view depicts the entire city from above while Sugar Loaf Mountain dominates the background. Note: Henry E. Winzenreid 'Henry Winzenreid': An American etcher, lithographer and woodcut artist, Henry E. Winzenreid studied art at the Detroit Institute of Fine Arts and in St. Louis. Beginning his career as primarily a painter, Winzenreid created his first original print in 1924. After that date he devoted himself almost exclusively to the graphic arts and his lithographs, etchings and woodcuts were exhibited in major national venues in Boston, New York, San Francisco, Cleveland, Atlanta and elsewhere. During his career, he traveled extensively and created works of art depicting various regions in South America, Mexico and Canada. Henry Winzenreid was a full member of the Chicago Society of Etchers.
  Rio de Janeiro is a spectacular example of Henry Winzenreid's art. Here we see the entire city from above while Sugar Loaf Mountain dominates the background. Published in an edition of only thirty impressions, Rio de Janeiro is considered to be one of Winzenreid's most desirable works of original art.
