Note: Donald Wilkinson: A contemporary British painter and printmaker, Donald Wilkinson studied art techniques at the Carlisle College of Art and Design, Cumbria (1953 - 1957), and at the Royal College of Art, London (1959 - 1962). In 1962 he was awarded the Andrew Lloyd Scholarship for Landscape and during the following years he received such awards as The Giles Bequest, British International Print Biennale (1974), The Pallas Prize, British International Print Biennale (1976), National Museum Prize, Cracow International Print Biennale, Poland (1980), the Northern Arts Award (1994) and Visual Arts UK (1995). Today a number of Donald Wilkinson's works of art on paper is included in the collection of the British Council.
  Donald Wilkinson has devoted his career to landscape. Many of his works focus upon the Lake District. Glen River - Mourne Mountains/ November is a large and important example of his very personal and striking work in this oeuvre.
  The Glen River is situated in the South East coast of County Down, Northern Ireland. It begins in the Mourne Mountains and runs steeply down through Donard Wood and finally through the seaside town of Newcastle.
  Donald Wilkinson's large, original lithograph, Glen River - Mourne Mountains/ November, examines both the beauty and power of the river as it rapidly runs along its downward course.

Containing very slight traces of water staining (well removed from the actual lithograph), else a finely printed impression and in good condition throughout. Signed, titled and numbered, 17/50, by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Glen River - Mourne Mountains/ November represents a prime, original example of the contemporary British landscape art of Donald Wilkinson.
