Louis Whirter's original etching and drypoint engraving, "Blarney Castle" is printed upon antique rice paper and with full margins and bearing the embossed publisher's stamp in the lower left margin which indicates that this etching was published between 1900 and 1910. It is titled and signed 'Louis Whirter' by the artist along the lower margin. The British artist, Louis Whirter can also be found under the listing of Louis Weirter. "Blarney Castle", (home of the legendary stone) is a fine, original example of the Landscape art created by the British artist, Louis Whirter.

Note: Louis Whirter 'Louis Weirter': A late 19th and early twentieth century Scottish painter, illustrator and etcher, Louis Whirter studied art in Edinburgh and at the Royal Scottish Academy. Weirter is known both for his paintings of the Great War as well as his landscape and architectural views, such as this original example of Blarney Castle. Besides creating a number of fine individual etchings, he also illustrated books, such as The Danube, by Walter Jerrold published by F.A. Stokes, New York. It contained thirty illustrations by Louis Weirter, R.B.A. (1911), and William Macdonald Sinclair's, Memorials of St Paul's Cathedral, illustrated by Weirter (1909), Westminster Abbey: Its Memories and Its Message, by Mary Sturgeon, published by George G. Harrap & Co., (1921) also illustrated by Louis Weirter and others.
  Whirter's art was first exhibited the Royal Academy, The Paris Salon and other important institutions. Louis Weirter was one of the original members of the Scottish Society of Artists. Today the art of Louis Whirter is included in many major public and private collections such as the National Gallery of Canada Collection, Ottawa and the British War Museum.
  An interesting aspect of Louis Whirter's art is that he actually signed his work differently. His paintings bear the signature 'Louis Weirter', while his etchings are signed 'Louis Whirter'.

  Framed and Matted with 100% Archival Materials
Condition: Printed upon antique rice (mulberry) paper and with full margins. Bearing the embossed publisher's stamp in the lower left margin which indicates that this etching was published no later than 1910 and perhaps as early as 1900. Titled and signed 'Louis Whirter' by the artist along the lower margin. It is a rich, velvety impression and in excellent condition throughout. This original etching and drypoint of Blarney Castle, (home of the legendary stone) stands as a superb example of Whirter's landscape art.
