Simon Tashimoto

Simon Tashimoto - Untitled Abstract Yellow and Orange Over a Reflective Silver

Untitled Abstract (Yellow and Orange Over a Reflective Silver)

Simon Tashimoto's original serigraph (silk screen), "Untitled Abstract", is a study of form, color, light and reflection. The last two elements are introduced because Tashimoto has printed this impression using a deeep yellow color combined with several tones of bright to burnt orange upon a paper with a silver, reflective coating. Its effect upon both structure and color is striking. As this impression is marked "A. P." (Artist Proof) it is not known what the size of the edition is. Other editions of Simon Tashimoto's serigraphs, however, are usually found in the range of about 175 impressions. This original Simon Tashimoto silkscreen is signed and annotated by the artist in pencil along the lower margin.
