Note:	Charles Russell: A leading Scottish painter of portraits and landscapes, Charles Russell was highly skilled in the medium of both painting and watercolour. He moved to Dublin around 1874 where he worked for Chancellor of Sackville Street as a portrait painter after photographs for about ten years. After that period he dedicated himself to the creation of works after his own designs. Charles Russell was a full member of the RHA (Royal Hibermian Academy) and a member of the Dublin Sketching Club.

Condition:	Painted on hand-made watercolour paper and with full margins. Backed upon board, which is usual for 19th century watercolours. Signed and dated by the artist in the lower right corner. It is in excellent condition throughout without a sign of staining or light burning. This original watercolour represents a large and important example of the marine art of Charles Russell.
