Note:	Catherine Redmond: A contemporary New York City painter, Catherine Redmond studied art at the State University of New York, Binghamton, and trained at the Art Students League. She has served as the Artist in Residence at the Vermont Council on the Arts and as a Chautauqua Summer Fellow. Catherine Redmond first taught painting techniques at the Art Students League, New York, before accepting a similar position at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She resided in that city for most of the 1980's and early 1990's. Cheese Danishes dates from this period of her career. Since 1999, Catherine Redmond has been teaching painting at the Pratt Institute, New York.
	Catherine Redmond's first solo exhibition took place in 1980 at the Wood Art Gallery, Montpellier, Vermont. Since that time her paintings have been included in important exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Santa Fe, Manhattan, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus and Seoul, South Korea. In 1987, her art was the subject of a solo exhibition at the prestigious Butler Institute of American Art. A major show of Catherine Redmond's recent paintings was launched in the Fall of 2003 at the David Findlay Gallery, New York City.
	Widely regarded for her superb use of coloration and texture the paintings of Catherine Redmond are today included in many public and private collections, such as, Citibank, New York, the Dreyfus Corporation, the Reading Museum and the Butler Institute of American Art.
