Clayton Pond - Inverticornerum Squaredoromic

Inverticornerum Squaredoromic

Clayton Pond's original silkscreen, "Inverticornerum Squaredoromic" was published in an edition of one hundred and fifty impressions in 1974. This silkscreen (serigraph) is signed, titled, dated and numbered by the artist in pencil in the lower margin. With its deliberately simplified forms and bright coloration, Clayton Pond's art is very closely associated with the influential Pop Art movement of the time. "Inverticornerum Squaredoromic" is a fine, original example of the silkscreen art created by the contemproary American artist, Clayton Pond.

Title: Inverticornerum Squaredoromic
Artist: Pond, Clayton ( Long Island, NY, Born, 1941)
Date: 1974
Medium: Original Serigraph (Silkscreen)
Note: "An exploration into color is probably the dominant technical aspect of my work, and print processes are most suitable for expressing my ideas. As far as subject matters are concerned, I derive much pleasure when I can take some commonplace object or situation from my personal environment: a chair, the diner where I eat, a model in the studio - and successfully transform it into something visually and spiritually exciting." *
Clayton Pond: An important American printmaker of the 1960's and 1970's, Clayton Pond studied art at Hiram College, the Carnegie Institute (B.F.A.) and at the Pratt Institute (M.F.A.). After graduation he taught for several years in schools in Florida and then accepted the position of guest instructor at the Pratt Graphics Center, New York.
During his career Clayton Pond received awards from such associations as the Boston Printmakers, the American Graphic Artists and the Bradley National Print Show. His original serigraphs are now in the collections of many major American museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
With its deliberately simplified forms and bright coloration, Pond's art is very closely associated with the influential Pop Art movement of the time. This work of art is a strong example of his silkscreen art, particularly noteworthy for creating the illusion of form and movement by manipulating strong colors
Edition: "Inverticornerum Squaredoromic" was published in the limited edition of one hundred and fifty impressions, numbered, 73/150.
