Note: Daniel Pelavin: A contemporary New York graphic artist, illustrator and typographic designer, Daniel Pelavin began his artistic education as an apprentice in Detroit art studios. He later received his Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in New York. Pelavin is a full member of the Graphic Artists Guild and is President of the Type Directors Club. In this latter vein, he was the creator of the well known typeface, ITC Anna.
  During his career Daniel Pelavin has received numerous awards from such institutions as the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Graphis Posters, Society of Publication Designers, the type directors Club, the Hong Kong Designers Association and Applied Arts Quarterly. His work has also been illustrated in a number of books, such as, Contemporary Graphic Designers, A History of Graphic Design and Illustration Masters.
Source: Hey Diddle Diddle belongs to a series of large silkscreens published in New York under the title of Mother Goose Collection. Various contemporary artists were commissioned to depict one Mother Goose poem of their choice. Pelavin's Hey Diddle Diddle portrays perhaps the most famous Mother Goose poem and in this striking design he has managed to amalgamate all the wonderfully absurd elements of the poem in one visual image, such as the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumping over the moon and the plate running away with the spoon.
Edition: Limited edition of three hundred impressions, numbered 281/300.

Condition: Printed upon smooth, laid paper and with full margins measuring 26 1/2" by 20 1/2" inches. Signed by the artist in pencil along the lower margin and numbered '281/300. A fine, full colour impression and in excellent condition throughout. This original silkscreen represents a prime example of the contemporary art of Daniel Pelavin.
