Justice on Trial (Series, in God We Trust #4)

Benjamin Francis Morrow's original aquatint engraving, Justice on Trial (Series, in God We Trust #4) is printed upon wove paper and with full margins as created by the artist around 1940, It bears the artist's 'BFM' monogram within the plate to the lower left and signed, dedicated "to Julius L. Goldenberg" and titled in pencil by him along the lower plate-mark. "Justice on Trial" stands as a fine, original example of the aquatint art created by the American artist, B. F. Morrow.

Artist: Morrow, Benjamin Francis (United States, 1891 - 1958)
Date: c. 1940
Medium: Original Aquatint Engraving
Note: Benjamin Francis Morrow: An American artist, Benjamin Francis Morrow specialized almost exclusively in the medium of the aquatint. He was, in fact, the author of the book, "The Art of Aquatint", which was published in New York in 1935.
Benjamin Francis Morrow's "Justice on Trial" hails from a series which he titled, "In God We Trust", which dealt with systems of political and legislative power. "Justice on Trial" obviously deals with the legal system and its vulnerable dependence upon the vagaries of the jury, whose representatives here are literally depicted as blockheads. 'Justice' is thus in considerable peril. Morrow has dedicated this impression to Julius L. Goldenberg.
