Note: Daniel Mordant: A French painter and etcher of the late nineteenth century, Daniel Mordant studied art techniques in Paris under Lehat and Charles Waltner. Known both for his etchings after the designs of others and for his own work, Daniel Mordant received medals from the Artistes Francais (1883) and from the Exposition Universelle (1889 and 1900).
  Between 1880 and 1905, Daniel Mordant was regularly commissioned by the Paris fine arts publisher, L'Art, for his etchings. Based upon a painting by Francisco Goya, La Jeune Femme a la Rose (The Young Woman and the Rose) was published by L'Art in 1887.
  Francisco Goya (Fuentodos, 1746 - Bordeaux, 1828): A strong case could be made that Francisco Goya represents the single greatest influence upon the development of nineteenth and twentieth century art. There is no doubt that he was truly a masterful painter. Along with Rembrandt, Durer and Whistler, Goya belongs to the select group of the greatest artists of all time.

Containing very faint foxing in the upper margin, else La Jeune Femme a la Rose (The Young Woman and the Rose) a finely printed impression and in excellent condition throughout. It is a fine, original example of the portrait art created by the French artist, Daniel Mordant.
