Frances St. Clair Miller's "San Samuele", is an original etching and aquatint engraving created by the contemporary British artist between 1980 and 1990. This impression of "San Samuele" is printed upon fine rag paper and with full margins as published by the artist around and is signed titled and annotated, 'A/P II/XV' (Artist Proof impression) by the artist in pencil along the lower plate-mark.

The Church of San Samuele in Venice was originally built around 1000. It was extensively rebuilt in both the twelfth and seventeenth centuries. The fourteenth century crucifix above its high alter has been attributed to Paolo Veneziano.

Note: Frances St. Clair Miller: A contemporary English painter and printmaker, Frances St. Clair Miller was educated at The Slade School of Fine Arts, London. Since that time she has worked as a Master Printer at both Studio Press and Octopus Press, Islington. Frances St. Clair Miller has also served as a teacher of printmaking at Sir John Cass College, London.
  As an exhibiting printmaker Frances St. Clair Miller is best known for her large, color aquatints of both English (particularly Herefordshire) and Italian views (most notably, Venice). Her fine aquatints have been shown at such institutions as the Hereford City Art Gallery, Courtyard Gallery, Cheltenham, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London, Kilvery Gallery Clyro and Impreza Uvano Frankivsk, Russia, and at the Krakow Print Biennale.
  Frances St. Clair Miller's original aquatints are published in editions ranging from 100 to 150 impressions. Apart from this she often pulls up to 15 artist proof impressions before publication. "San Samuele" is an 'Artist Proof' impression (II/VI)
  This original color etching and aquatint depicts the Church of San Samuele in Venice was originally built around 1000. It was extensively rebuilt in both the twelfth and seventeenth centuries. The fourteenth century crucifix above its high alter has been attributed to Paolo Veneziano.
