Note:	Jean McKay: A British painter, watercolourist, textile designer and etcher, Jean McKay studied art at the Ardrossan Academy and at Methodist College, Belfast. During her career she exhibited her art in Belfast, Leeds and Bradford. Jean McKay also illustrated several books and was a free lance illustrator for 'Revue Moderne' and the 'Bradford Telegraph'. Much of her textile art was commissioned by T. F. Firth & Sons, Ltd.
	In the 1920's Jean McKay etched a number of fine topographical views depicting various sites in both England and Scotland.

Condition:	Castle Esplanade, Edinburgh is printed upon watermarked hand-made laid paper and with full margins as published around 1925. Signed and titled in pencil by the artist along the lower margin. Apart from very minor scuffing in the outer margins this is a finely printed, tonal impression and in excellent condition throughout. This original etching represents a prime example of the architectural art of Jean McKay.
