Robert Marsh's original aquatint, "Farmyard" was published in New York by the Associated American Artists in a limited edition of two hundred and fifty impressions. In 1974 this publishing house launched an exhibition entitled, "New Talent in Printmaking". Robert Marsh's "Farmyard" was featured in this exhibition. This original impression is signed, titled and numbered by the artist in pencil along the lower margin.

Note: Robert Marsh: A contemporary American painter and printmaker, Robert Marsh received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Mississippi. For a period of more than thirty years he held the position of Professor of Art at Averett University. In his etchings, pastels and paintings Robert Marsh concentrates upon the landscape of the American South.
  Since 1974 Robert Marsh has exhibited his art at the Associated American Artists, New York, the Southern Graphics Council’s Touring Exhibition, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Winston Salem, the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, the 25th National Exhibition of Prints, Library of Congress, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Smithsonian Institution. Today the art of Robert Marsh is included in the permanent collections of the Bank of America, the Mint Museum of Art, Equitable Incorporated of New York, First Charter Bank and elsewhere.
  Robert Marsh's "Farmyard" was commissioned by the Associated American Artists of New York in 1974 and published by them in a sole, limited edition of 250 impressions. Since its inauguration in the mid 1930's, the Associated American Artists commissioned original etchings, lithographs and woodcuts from such great masters as Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton and Reginald Marsh. It published graphic art of no less stature during the 1960's and 1970's decades as contributing artists included Robert Marsh, Mel Silverman, Jack Levine, Chaim Koppelman, Joseph Margulies, James Kearns and Sidney Chafetz.

Condition: Printed upon pure rag paper and with full margins as published in New York in 1974. Signed, titled and numbered, '113/250' by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. A finely printed impression and with a small 3/4 inch crease along the right corner margin of the paper, well away from the plate-mark, else in very good condition throughout. "Farmyard" is a strong, original example of the etched art of Robert Marsh.
