Note: Nat Levy: A California painter and etcher, Nat Levy first served in the United States Navy and as an aide in the California Assembly. He then studied art at the CSFA, San Francisco and after graduation opened a studio as a freelance artist. As well, Levy later worked as a graphic artist for Foster & Kleiser and taught art for many years at the U.C. Extension in San Francisco.
  Nat Levy was a full member of the California Society of Etchers, the Mann Society of Artists and the California Water Color Society. He also served as President of the last named institution. During his career, Nat Levy exhibited at such venues as the California State Fairs, the De Young Museum, San Francisco, and internationally at the Royal Gallery, London, England.
  Much of Nat Levy's art concentrated upon marine studies and coastal views, with particular reference to the Mendocino coast. In all probability this fine etching, entitled, Morning Tide Salute, hails from this locality.
