Wall Street

Kamil Kubik's original silkscreen, "Wall Street" depicts one of Manhattan's most famous landmarks viewed from the proximity of the corner of William and Wall Streets and to the immediate right is the Bank of New York, to the left is the Stock Exchange. This silkscreen is printed upon thick archival paper and with full margins as published in an edition of three hundred impressions around 1980. It is signed and numbered by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. "Wall Street" is a fine, original example of the famous New York City art creatd by the Czechoslovakia/American artist, Kamil Kubik.

Note: Kamil Kubik: Born in Czechoslovakia, Kamil Kubik took his initial art studies in Prague. In 1948, however, the Communists seized power and he escaped the country. He then completed his art education in London, Australia, San Francisco and New York. Before settling in America, Kamil Kubik worked as a set designer in Australia, primarily in Sydney and Canberra. Now a resident of New York, Kubik has established a wide reputation for both his still life compositions and his street scenes and cityscapes.
  Today the fine art of Kamil Kubik is included in the private collections of President and Mrs. George Bush, Mayor and Mrs. Rudolph Giuliani, Prince Rainer of Monaco, HRH Queen Elizabeth II, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scribner. In 1997 the artist was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
  In "Wall Street", Kubik depicts perhaps Manhattan's most famous landmark from the proximity of the corner of William and Wall Streets. To the immediate right is the Bank of New York and to the left is the Stock Exchange. Trinity Church is seen in the center background. The street is alive with the movement of many flags and the human bustle of a day of business.

Condition: Printed upon thick archival paper and with full margins as published around 1980. Signed and numbered, '174/300', by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Containing water staining within the upper margin (visible on the verso but only faintly evident on the image side) else a strong, finely printed impression and in good condition throughout. "Wall Street" represents a prime, original example of the famous New York City art of Kamil Kubik.
