Stephen Izant - "Protest" is an original drypoint engraving created by the fine twentieth century American artist, Stephen Izant. "Protest" was commissioned by the "Print Makers Society of California" as their presentation plate for associate members for the year 1945. This impression is printed upon hand made, laid paper and with large, full margins as published in 1945. It is signed and titled in pencil by Stephen Izant under the plate-mark.

Note: Stephen Izant: Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Stephen Izant was first trained in architecture and engineering and worked in these professions until moving to Los Angeles in 1923. After that time he dedicated his talents to architectural, landscape and figure etching and painting, as well as the creation of architectural bronzes. Stephen Izant was a full member of both the California Society of Etchers and of the Print Makers Society of California. He was also President of the Painters and Sculptors Club of Los Angeles.
  "Protest" was commissioned by the "Print Makers Society of California" as their presentation plate for associate members for the year 1945. It was limited to a sole, signed edition of one hundred and fifty impressions. The original printed folder with the dedication to associate member, Harry C. Kriewitz, is included.

Condition: Printed upon hand made, laid paper and with large, full margins as published by the Print Makers Society of California in 1945. A beautiful, deeply printed impression and in excellent condition throughout. Signed and titled in pencil by the artist under the plate-mark. Protest represents a prime, original example of the art of Stephen Izant.
