Robert Hyndman - The Hydro-Electric Works of a Dam Robert Hyndman - The Laying of a Pipeline Robert Hyndman - Ship Unloading Coal

A Grouping of Three Industrial Pen and Ink Drawings (Hydro-Electric Works, A Pipeline & Coal)

Robert Stewart Hyndman 'Robert Hyndman': Now famous for his portrait and landscape painting, Robert Stewart Hyndman was also trained as a commerical artist. One of these three drawings (specifically the image of the ship unloading coal) bears the following typewritten label on the verso; "For, Stenographic & Printing Service, 50 Sparks St., Ottawa. Black and white drawing by Robert Hyndman -- for revised Coal Importers' Brief. From, Industrial Development Services, 45 Rideau Street, Ottawa, Canada." I would assume these original pen and ink drawings were reproduced by the first named company for a publication.

All three drawings are on identical illustration board. The other two works illustrate the laying of a pipeline and a view of the hydro-electric works of a dam. As neither the drawings nor the above mentioned label bears a date, the years I have given for their creation are only based upon the character of the drawings themselves.
