By the mid 1920's Grossman was establishing a solid reputation for his etched and engraved views of New York City and other major American centers. During the following twenty years he became best known for his urban views, landscapes and figure studies in the media of etchings and drawings. Elias Grossman traveled extensively during the 1930's and 1940's and etched many scenes of Italy, Spain and the Holy Land.
