Antonio Carbonati's original etching entitled, "Il Tevere col Ponte e Castel Sant' Angelo - Roma " loosely translates to (The Tiber River with the Bridge and Castel Sant' Angelo - Rome ). Published in 1945, this impression is printed upon fine laid paper with the 'Duca de Ferrara' watermark and is signed, dated and numbered, by Antonio Carbonati in pencil along the lower margin. It belongs to Carbonati's last great creative period, the years immediately following the end of World War II. It is a fine, original example of the etched art created by the Italian artist, Antonio Carbonati.

Note: Antonio Carbonati: Now firmly placed in the front rank of early twentieth century Italian art, Antonio Carbonati's first published etchings date from 1916. During the following three years he created a number of etchings (most dealing with Rome) which brought him an enthusiastic reception from the public. Unlike so much art in Italy at this time, these were not traditional or tourist vies, but thoroughly modern images, indicative of Antonio Carbonati's very unique style and contemporary concerns.
  Between 1920 and 1925, Antonio Carbonati lived and worked in Paris. French recognition of Carbonati's talent was swift and he became a juried member of the Salon d'Automne (1923) and won the prestigious gold medal at the Exposition Internatinoale des Arts Decoratifs, Paris (1925).
  Antonio Carbonati then returned to Rome and continued to create his own very distinctive cityscapes. Il Tevere col Ponte e Castel Sant' Angelo - Roma (The Tiber River with the Bridge and Castel Sant' Angelo - Rome ) belongs to the artist's last great creative period, the years immediately following the end of World War II.

Contains matte burning in the outer margins, Else Il Tevere col Ponte e Castel Sant' Angelo - Roma (The Tiber River with the Bridge and Castel Sant' Angelo - Rome ) is a fine impression and a most valuable example of the original art created by the Italian artist, Antonio Carbonati.
