Note:	Philippa Blair: A contemporary painter and print maker, Philippa Blair graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts from Canterbury University in 1967. She has both taught and exhibited her art for more than twenty-five years in New Zealand, the United States, Australia, Japan, France, Italy, Germany and Malaysia. Her art has received QEII Arts Council grants in 1982, 1984 and 1987.
	Since 1980, Philippa Blair has worked in both Auckland, New Zealand, and Los Angeles, California. Her most recent American exhibitions include solo shows in Los Angeles (1998) and at the Spencer Gallery, Rhode Island (1999). Most of Philippa Blair's original lithographs have been published in very small numbers. Freeway Hearts, for example, was published in a limited edition of but six impressions. The artist is currently represented in New Zealand by Paper Graphica Fine Print Studio.
	Philippa Blair recieved the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council Grant (1980 and 1983). She Also received the Air NZ Queen Elizabeth II Arts Travel Award (1987). Today the art of Philippa Blair is included in the permanent collections the National Gallery of Australia, the New Zealand Embassy, Tokyo, Japan, the Long Beach Museum of Art, Long Beach, California, the University of Aukland, Auckland, Waikato Museum of art and History, Hamilton, Griffs Art Center, New London, CT, the Citibank Collection, New York, as well as many other important private and public institutions in New Zealand, Australia Great Britain, USA, Germany Switzerland, Italy and elsewhere.
