Sheila Benow - Dawn

Dawn

Sheila Benow's original etching and aquatint, "Dawn" is printed upon fine archival paper and with full, deckled margins as published by the Associated American Artists in the limited edition of one hundred and twenty impressions in 1981. It is signed, dated, titled and numbered, by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Dawn is a fine, original example of the Impressionist landscape art of Sheila Benow. Her art concentrates upon the ever shifting patterns of light and shade. In the case of this particular landscape scene, the artist entirely reworked this plate for a second, unique etching entitled, "Noon" the result is a captivating examination of the effects of light within the same landscape.
