Paolo Boni

Recueillement (The Print Club of Cleveland)

Paolo Boni's original relief intaglio etching 'Graphisculpture' entitled, "Recueillement" is printed upon thick hand-made, laid paper and with full margins as published by "The Print Club of Cleveland" in 1966. It is signed by the artist in pencil and is a beautifully a printed work of art with full tones. Briefly, a 'Graphisculpture' is a multi-leveled relief print arduously constructed by cutting and shaping different metals and individually inking and printing each in relation to the other. This is clearly seen in "Recueillement" where the layered relationships between form and shape dominate. Much like a sculpture, the end result is an image of three dimensional complexity and artistic substance. This original relief intaglio etching is a fine, original example of the abstract art created by the Italian artist, Paulo Boni.

This is clearly seen in Recueillement where the layered relationships between form and shape dominate.
