An original color aquatint and etching, Alain Lacaze's "Quebec, Quartier Champlain" (Champlain Quarter, Quebec City) was printed in a limited edition of three hundred signed and numbered impressions. With a heavy mist rising from the St. Lawrence River, Alain Lacaze depicts a fine, wintry view of Quebec City, rising from the lower town to the upper, where the Chateau Frontenac dominates the summit.

Note: Alain Lacaze: A contemporary, French Canadian painter and printmaker, Alain Lacaze studied art techniques at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France. He settled permanently in Quebec City in 1980 and established an atelier and teaching studio there on rue Saint-Paul. Alain Lacaze's paintings, watercolours and original etchings have been exhibited in such cities as San Francisco, San Diego, New York, Osaka (Japan), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Palermo (Italy).
  "Quebec, Quartier Champlain" (Champlain Quarter, Quebec City) is a fine example of Alain Lacaze's work in the aquatint method. Using the tonal values of this medium to full effect the artist has created a memorable image of his native city.
