Louis Kronberg's original drypoint and etching, "Ballerina" depicts a portrait of Mlle. Cebron. It is printed on wove paper and with full margins as published in New York in 1929. This impression is signed in the plate by the artist with his monogramme and is also signed in pencil along the lower margin. "Ballerina" is a fine, original example of the etched art created by the American artist, Louis Kronberg.

Note: Louis Kronberg: A well known American painter, etcher and teacher, Louis Kronberg studied at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Art Students League of New York and at the Academie Julien in Paris, under Benjamin-Constant and Raphael Collin. He first began exhibiting his art with the Boston Museum, receiving a silver medal in 1897. During the following years, Louis Kronbergs paintings and original prints were shown in most major American cities as well as in many international centres.
  Louis Kronberg was a full member of the Guild of Boston Artists, the American Water Color Society and the Assoc. Nationale Salon, in Paris. Examples of his art may be seen in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, and in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. As both a painter and as an original etcher, Louis Kronberg was most famous for his depictions of women, most notably, dancers, such is the case with this original etching of the ballerina, Mlle. Cebron.
Edition: Louis Kronberg did not number his original etchings and drypoints. However, it is known that most appeared in editions of fifty or less.

Condition: Printed on wove paper and with full margins as published in New York around 1940. Signed in the plate by the artist (with his monogramme) and signed in pencil along the lower margin. Containing specks of foxing in the lower half of the image, else a fine impression. "Ballerina" is a fine example of the art of this gifted American artist.
