Note: Alice Asmar: An American painter, sculptor and lithographer of figure studies and landscapes, Alice Asmar first studied art at Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon. She then studied under Edward Melcarth and Archipenko at the University of Washington, receiving her M.F.A. In 1958 and 1959 a scholarship allowed her to study in both France and Italy, most notably at the Ecole Nat. Superieure, Paris, under M. Souverbie.
  Alice Asmar first worked as an engineering artist for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. She then taught art for a period of years at several institutions (including Lewis and Clark College) and began exhibiting her work at such institutions as the Seattle Art Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, Los Angeles, Circle Gallery, Houston, and at the Audubon Art Exhibit, Portland. Today the art of Alice Asmar is included in the collections of the Smithsonian Institution, Portland Art Museum, the Public Art Museum of Gabrova, Bulgaria, and the Nicholas Townell Collection, Angus, Scotland.
  A leading subject of Alice Asmar's art is the life and customs of the native peoples of the American South-West. Through both painting and lithography she has captured the native American culture in Taos, Pecos, Pueblo, Shiprock and elsewhere. Harvest Dancers is a superb example of her art in this important genre.

Containing a faint, diagonal crease in the upper left corner, else a brilliant, full color and in good condition throughout. Harvest Dancers represents a prime, original example of the lithographic art of Alice Asmar.
