Andre Desligneres, an original etching and engraving entitled, "Paris" is printed upon thick wove paper and with full margins as published in Paris in 1925. This impression is signed, titled and dated in the plate and is also signed in pencil by Desligneres under the lower plate-mark. "Paris" depicts a splendid view of both Notre Dame and the famous row of print dealers and book sellers. It is a fine, original example of the city views and landscape art created by the French artist, Andre Desligneres.

Note: Andre Desligneres: A fine early twentieth century French painter, etcher, engraver and illustrator, Andre Desligneres studied art at the Ecole Germaine Pilon. He moved to Paris around 1902 and during the following years exhibited his art there with the Salon des Artistes Francais, the Salon des Independants and the Salon d'Automne. Andre Desligneres's paintings and etchings were also exhibited at major international expositions in Amsterdam (1914), Chicago (1930), Milan (1936) and Vienna (1946).
  Desligneres was also a talented wood engraver and employed this medium to illustrate many fine books by Rolland, Roupnel, Poe, Corbiere and Colette. Today his art is included in the collections of the Musee de la Ville de Paris, the Musee du Havre and the Museum of Milan.
  "Paris" dates from 1925 and represents one of Andre Desligneres's largest etchings. With its splendid view of both Notre Dame and the famous row of print dealers and book sellers it represents his art at its finest.

Condition: Printed upon thick wove paper and with full margins as published in Paris in 1925. Signed, titled and dated in the plate and signed in pencil by the artist under the lower plate-mark. Containing faint foxing in the upper margins, else a richly printed impression and in good condition throughout. "Paris" represents a superb example of the art of Andre Desligneres.
